30 amp fuse keeps blowing

As soon as I turn my battery switch to on position the 30 amp fuse in my 1999 Yamaha 100 4 stroke outboard blows. No power to anything now. It initially blew after the motor was running and had just reversed off the trailer. I recently changed a burnt out rectifier, and it ran great a whole day. Any suggestions on where to start looking. I have a multimeter to try & trace the short.
Any help appreciated.

Unplug the rectifier and see if resolves the short in the charging loop. If it does then it is the rectifier and the next question is why it happened again. Did you buy the proper rectifier and was it a yamaha factory part. PDsniper

the only 3 things I see being supplied by that 30 amp fuse is the rectifier, the CDI and the 20 amp ign fuse.

Re: 30 amp fuse keeps blowing

thankyou for the replies, it ended up being a worn wire near the rectifier, & the new rectifier is still good.
