Can't say I blame them good ol boys. If I was there I'd spent most of my time drinking your beer too. I'd say things like "She's coming along just fine, keep up the good work."

Hey, what happened after day 12. That was on April 30th, I wonder if it is done yet?

Hi Smeag.

I just recently bought a '88 baretta that will probably need the same amount of work that you are doing to yours. I've been enjoying reading your posts and seeing the pictures of your progress, looking good so far. Can't wait to see more... I hope you haven't given up yet.

I can't wait to see more either although it is now over 30 days, in fact he has not posted in over 30 days. A lot of times you have to step back from these boat restores or else you'll get burnt out trying to get it all done in such a small amount of time. In time he'll jump back in there.

lol spot on there bub. i had a new addition to the family (my sister had a new baby boy. I actually went out to visit her and took some time off from the boat.)

I have been playing around and testing out the glassing the last few days and have my transom and most of my stringers cut out and started the layup glasswork. as you can see i've given up on the 30 day aspect lol but will be working hard to get it done by the end of june. that's my new goal to get her out on the water.

Smeag, take your time & sorry to here about your sister, hope she and your little nefew are ok now. I started my restore back in Aug 08 and gave myself until May or June to complete, here it is June:eek: and I'm still working on her. My new deadline is "whenever I finish"

Re: 30 - day restoration project - baretta overhaul

I found a product to fix my gas tank that i hacked apart with the chainsaw. seems to be holding well -- jb waterweld. i still think i'm gonna reinforce it with a layer of another type of epoxy just in case but it seemed to have done the trick

I have also cut out my new transom and most of the stringers.

Here is a picture of the boat, the boat is at my parents acreage which is 600 miles away from where i live so I haven't actually seen it close hand yet. I have holidays starting in a couple weeks so I will be picking it up at the end of the month. It will probably sit in my driveway for a couple months til it gets cold then in the garage as a winter project. I've got to many projects as it is right now, I will try to get a thread started soon with full pics and progress as it goes. This will be my first boat, it's a 19...? foot open bow, 220hp 305 with a volvo penta outdrive. Looking forward to see more progress on yours.

James

Welcome back Smeag!!! The little guy is cute, looks likes he can be a distraction :). Nice cuts on the new stringer & transom, glassing them in should be fun
