Ok so the journey begins, I know I said that I wanted to build the hull from scratch but I found this while looking for a inboard for my boat and well for 500 for a complete hull that is said to be in excellent condition, where it would cost me around 10K to build one. He bought it new with no cabin work so that leaves an open floor plan for me in the cabin its set up for twins. Ill be looking at it tomorrow what does everyone think.

Also he doesn't say the make does anyone have any guesses, to me it kind of resembles a Sea Ray but do they make sport fishers?

Thats a cool looking boat but youll need a lot of power to push it.If your not careful just the cost of powering a boat and you could buy a runner.

Now thats a drive unit! Looks like you already did your homework? the leading question is why is he selling the boat with or without drive? When you go look at it look close and dont get a suprise when you get it home.I know I did.

Hes buying a finished Yacht live aboard to retire in him and his wife. So he says but not only will i be looking very close also taking some pics of it. Maybe you all will catch something I missed, and help me get an idea of what is where while I'm designing the cabin.

Nope, not a sea ray - has more of a chris craft look to it. Maybe a carver ??
Have you even priced one of those VP units? And you were worried about 10 grand? You ain't seen nothing yet. I suggest you keep a large distance from them. You'd be better off with twin B3's or better yet the VP duoprop.

Yea that looks like an old Chris Craft or possibly an old Uniflite or a Trojan. It really looks like a late 60s Owens wooden boat, but it says its fiberglass. I don't know whats in your area, but you can find hulls that size around here pretty easy for free. That ones not the best layout for big game fishing. More deck and less cabin would be my preference.

Heres one thats pretty big, but looks like a good deal somewhere close to you.http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/boa/952481967.html Its not really that great of a fishing setup either, but I thought it was cool:)
