I have my 1975 302 broken all the way down. From what i can tell/see there is no damage to the pistons, heads, or block. However, i did have very low compression in the back half of the motor before i broke it down. What steps should i take now. Also i have not done this before and would also know what tool may be required to rebuild the motor.

Need to run it to a machine shop. They will mic it and tell you what need doing. probably bore cylinders, grind the crank, new pistons and rings and oversize bearings.

low compression is due to worn rings or valves. Rick is right on, take it to a machine shop, they will measure it and provide guidance on what machining and parts are needed. Most likely block will need to be bored and use oversize Pistons, have them do a valve job and replace what's needed on the heads as well.

As far as tools depends on what you're going to do- if it is properly machined you only need a torque wrench, ring compressor for a basic assembly. If your inexperienced probably wouldn't cost much to have the shop assemble the long block.
