Well I change everything over from one motor to the other..Started it up..Had to pour gas down the carb. for a few minutes she started up and ran great..Now im going to take it all back off and paint the motor..Can't wait till next spring to put it back into boat.I'll let you all know if that cam has to be change out or not in spring.

OK I have motor in boat and running on water muffs. The problem I'm having is that it will stall on me when I try and give it gas. Anybody have and tricks that I can try? thanks

Ayuh,.... With the complete lack of Info, I'd guess yer carb is pooched....

Has it been tuned up,..??
Filters checked,..??
Timin' set,..??

yes I set the timming and new spark plugs.Im thinking its a fuel problem. the motor sat for 2 years.I will let you know more this Saturday. Would the linkage for Foward and Reverse have anything to do with this stalling problem?

Ayuh,.... That should only happen when Shiftin', if the cables gone bad....

But,... That don't mean something else ain't worn out, 'n doin' things it ain't supposed to be doin' Either....

If it sat for 2 years, start at the fuel Tank, 'n work yer way to the Carb, cleanin', 'n checkin' yer fuel delivery system...

I found my problem..The gas filter in the carb was full of ****.I have to get a new water/gas filter and I should be good to go.I want to thank ALL of you guys for the info. The hole project went far better than I thought it would..Im going to take it out on lake this Saturday.I'll let all of you know how it goes.Once again thanks

My question today is...The Manifold where the sea water comes in is nice and cool..The other side gets hot ( I can put my hand on it and won't burn me) is this normal?

if you mean the thermostat housing, yes its normal

Nope..I mean the manifold itself..When I put my hand on one its cold when I put my hand on the other it hot..I have center riser..
