I have 10 hours on my I/O 4.3 Mercruiser. It's going to be 31 degrees tonight. Do I need to find a place indoors or will it be ok outside?

It's going inside. The only reason I asked is that the marina said an hour at 29-32 degrees wouldn't do damage. I say BS to that. I spent a crap load on this boat. It's going in right now. Thanks for verifying my thoughts. I'm new to I/O.

Just remember this.

It only takes a few minutes, maybe half an hour, to drain an engine. It takes a lot longer than that and a lot more money to replace it all because it froze.

Good to hear it's going inside where it's safe :D

Re: 31 degrees Fahrenheit tonight

You may think I was crazy for even posting this question, but I don't know anybody around here with any boat experience except the marina. The response I got from the marina when I called them to make sure they put my boat inside the night before I took possession on April 9th when it actually got down to 29 degrees was unacceptable to me. The boat had been in the water for their test run the day before, so it was de-winterized. I told him I did not like his answer stating that an hour or two slightly below freezing won't damage my boat. He said he would talk to the mechanics and make sure it would be ok. I think they just left it outside.

I guess I knew what to do tonight, but it's nice to run it by people who know their stuff. Seriously, thanks for tolerating my inexperience and for giving sound advice.
