Hi, I have and 83' Chris Craft 315 Commander. I went to fuel it up yesterday and had and accident. I removed the fuel cap, went to retrieve the nozzle, sat down on the gunwale to fill it up, (Sat on the fuel cap since i was Not paying attention), put the nozzle in my fishing rod holder, and proceeded to pump 17 gallons of fuel into my bilge. (I know, its pretty stupid) So, I pumped it out, cleaned it out with the absorption stuff, used bilge cleaner, but I want to be sure its safe and all the fumes are gone. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Time and ventilation. Your nose will tell you when it's safe to start it again.

I purchased some bilge absorbing pads at the local marina. This might work in your case. maybe a little water in the bilge, the absorbing pads and let it soak the mess up?
