Hello,
1966 evinrude 33 h.p. ski-twin starts and idles nice revs good in neutral but in gear with wide open throttle engine just idles along with very little increase in rpm. the throat plate in the carb seems to be opening all the way so I dont think it is a linkage issue, I should mention that this motor is new to me so I dont know any history on it other than I changed the impeller and forward gear and clutch dog as well as lwr. unit seals. any ideas? thanks

Classic complaint heard every day around any outboard shop. Your motor is running on one cylinder. What I can't tell you is why it is running on one. Can be a bad spark plug, dirty points, bad coil, bad plug wire, grounded stop wire, take your pick. Could also be no compression on the missing cylinder, or water in that cylinder.
