33 HP Evinrude - Steering system

I just got a Glastron 68 with the steering / throttle / shift cables on and a 33 HP Evinrude outboard. The problem is how to hook these cables to the outboard.
The left and right steering cable are connected through a bolt and nut and there is a hole in the outboard rudder so I could attach the bolt right through this hole but that does not feel the right way.

This is my first boat so I have zero experience in this field. Tried all the books in the library (about 15 of them) but none of them seem to give details as to how this cables were originally attached.

What I need is some detailed drawings on how these controls are attached (using the old system since I don't really want to spend lot of money on a new system until I learn more about boating) so that I can connect the wheel to the outboard. The same would be valid for the throttle and shift controls. Also, if possible, where could I find these accessories, what should I look for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Are there pulleys attached to the cable on either side of that bracket with the bolt and nut? If so, then bolt it up to the hole in the center of the "handle" that goes across the engine.

Here are photos to help you with the other two cables:

Re: 33 HP Evinrude - Steering system

Hi Shifter and thanks a bunch. The saying that "...a picture is worth 1000 words..." is proving true again :) .

Relating to the steering system, yes the pulleys are attached and I think all that is needed is there. The problem though is the surface, perpendicular to the whole, on the inside of the outboard, is not flat (looks like this part is designed this way) and that's what made me thinking it should be some intermediar part in between. I will try to attach a picture to better understand what I am saying but again thanks a lot for your help.
