35 hp evinrude problems

Last year I replaced the power pack through my local marina. Now this year I have the same problem I lose power and then the boat sputters and shuts off. In a few minutes it will restart and run awhile then quits. My Marine dealer tells me it may be the stator assy and trigger. Am I getting screwed with the shop just trying different parts.

First when it does this put a couple of fingers on the flat part of the head and make sure that it is not overheating. The model number or year of your engine will help a ton. You may just have a coil that is overheating. You may need to pull the flywheel and see if you have goo dripping down from the stator and all.
