i need some answers on engine removal for an 87 bayliner cierra 2450. the motor is new ( under 50 hrs.), INDMAR MARINE coupled to an OMC COBRA DRIVE and i want to save it for when my 350 crusader goes in my 24ft.penn yan. i have removed the outdrive, unbolted the motor mounts and removed all hoses and wiring, fuel lines, and power steering pump.do i have to remove the bell housing and get to the coupler or will it just pull out now? i am not familiar with i/o units having been an outboard and lately a " tunnel drive" boater. i purchased the boat, motor and dual axel steel i-beam trailer for $2500.00 from a guy who purchased a new boat and needed to get rid of this one.....motor still under warranty, but the hull is pretty beat up. i know the former owner, but he is no i/o mechanic either so he could not answer any of my questions. any help will be appreciated...thanks...
