350mpi trouble

I have a 2002 350mpi inboard. Started it up and it pops out the intake. I believe its a lean pop. Checked fuel pressure and it is at only 22psi. Changed the fuel pump and cooler, still does the same thing and has the same pressure. Could the regulator be bad??? Or is there something else going on? Ordered the merc scan tool to pull codes if there is any.

Any ideas????

Re: 350mpi trouble

Your not going to find any codes that will cause 22 psi of fuel pump pressure.
What is the SN of your engine. Can't go by year, Merc posts nothing by year, and you are right on the edge of 2 different systems.

Head up to the Adults Only sticky at the top of this forum. Find the Merc service manual links and download manual #24. You have a 2000 engine there, not a 2002. The 2001 engine SN's started with 0M.
Anyway, download the manual and check out the fuel system section. Low fuel pump pressure could be caused by a number of things

Re: 350mpi trouble

For fuel pressure problems it is telling me to check the A-4 section in diagnostics. I have been searching but can't find anything?

Re: 350mpi trouble

It's not section A-4, its Chart A-4. Look on page 5G-32
