bought new, it was only 65$. was in the water this passt weekend and its doin great, except for the stupid needles backing out :(. used a touch of automotive silicon on the outer threads to hold them in place (gas safe)

I think all the lil things that happen with this motor is half the fun of havin it (or atleast thats what I keep tellin myself)

the needles are fine and the carb kit came with new packing the problem is the outside tube the screws into the carb and the needles screw into. I guess either the carb threads are a lil worn or they are. The top one wiggles out while running and the slow speed adjustment goes all to hell.

High and low-speed, or just the low-speed? You can replace that carb for one that has better/tighter thread casting for not much $$. Not long ago, I got two for less than $50...one's in use, the other is a parts horse. I've got a pile of three old worn out Big Twin carbs with the same problem...they simply wear out eventually.

I see them occasionally on Schmebay...I found two carbs in less than a week using the free classifieds/Webvertize ads at www.aomci.org
One was even freshly rebuilt.
