Did you rebuild the carb? if not. i would. your float may not be set properly also, or water/gas logged.

You need to disconnect the fuel line going into the carb. Pull your sparkplug wires then crank engine to see if you have a constant flow of fuel.

i can squeeze the fuel bulb start the engine and pull the fuel line coming from the pump to the carb with the engine running and its just got a spitting of gas not a stream. a spurt or two here and there. the motor was running great till i installed a new starter. i know it dont have anything to do with it but im stumped.. local boat shop said to remove the fuel pump and check for air pressure from the crank case thats the only thing i havent done yet.

Could be your primer bulb, if you have a remote tank with seperate line and bulb that would eliminate it. Perhaps a severe air leak. If you have a boat with a permanent fuel tank check the vent line; muddobbers? You can hook up a fuel vacuum line and check fuel restriction. No more than 4"hg.

if all eles fails you can buy a 6 LB electric fuel pump but theat would be defeating the issue does your water line run throught he fuel pump and if so is the pisser doing the tall tail thinggy? do you have a fuel filter on this line if so replace it. check valves may be gone in the fuel pump but not likely.

You could have a bad air leak as mentioned. It would most likely be before your primer ball. try the seperate tank and ball. If that doesn't work you probably have low vac on the pump.
