Hi!!!Need some help! Looking for dog clutch for 35 seahorse 1959.Rdsl-21.Can somebody help me with part#?Or direct me to the posible sors for that part? Thanks. Vladimir.

I don't have a source for a new dog but the dog can be turned around and reused (provided that hasn't already been done). Slide the dog off the prop shaft, turn it so that the dogs face in the opposite direction and reinstall. This uses the engaging lugs opposite the ones that are rounded. Good luck!:)

your foward gear maybe have gone bad too


switch gears at engines lowest speed then you may rev it up to keep it alive if it tried to stall but should give you enough time to rev up. switch gears smooth and in one move and fast.

Thanks for respond!!!.The problem is that clutch got in half for 2 pieces:( I am lucky this happend in the end of the season:D.So now i have hard time to get this part. Thanks anyway!! Vladimir.

That dog fits all omc 35/40 through the late 60's. Look on ebay, Ive seen them new as low as $25.00 Good luck.

A lot of times you need to also replace the gears as well, or you will just end up wrecking another clutch dog in another year. That gets VERY costly. The better option is to buy a used lower unit off eBay or craigslist. They can usually be found over the winter for about $60-100. You do run the risk of buying someone elses headaches, but I have had decent luck with it.

The part number for a 1959 35hp clutch dog is 305105.

it sounds like you are not from the usa. if you are using your old johnson in another country, good-on-you! i have an rds21b, and i love it, and have also recieved a lot of help from right here on iboats. i hope you have many more good years using yours. cheers. :)

try a dealer those dogs are still available.i got one for my 56 30 hp johnny last year ,may have to order in but they still have them.
