I just finished going through all 391 pages of posts on this forum. Took over a month. Some observations made were, wow is there ever a lot of good info here; There are some very knowlegable and extreamly patient people who really help when the chips are down. Many topics have been covered up to and maybe more than 25 times. Did I ever learn alot.
I only read threads that interested me or had to do with what I owned, but some that I clicked out of interest I found related. They are all just boats and engines after all.
Seeing what is here highlighted the poor search function. I found threads with the exact words in the heading that I had prieviously searched for and got nada.
Even so this place is a valuable resource and likely the best forum I have found besides the ih8mud.com 80s tech landcruiser forum. Very rare on the net and something to be proud of.
Cheers,
Sean

Well, the search function may be a complete bust, but you have to admit, it IS the slowest boating forum on the internet.

Wow! First thanks for being so supportive and second, I am sooooooooooooo sorry our new boards are both slow and the search is a joke. We know and are sick about it here at iboats. Please stick with us while we try to continue to work our bugs out with this terrible new program we got ourselves into.

Re: 391 pages later...

I'm on DSL Ultra from our southern carrier. This forum never seems slow to me. The computer I'm on is brand new so that may be why I have no problems, although I don't have problems with the other 2 machines in here either and they're pretty old. I sit for hours reading posts, they're educational and even entertaining in some areas.

As for the forum itself, I didn't know there were other ones online. So far I haven't had to go look. If iboats.com had a sticker that said this boat is maintained by iboats.com I'd probably put it on one of my windows.

I could sit and name names and forget 3 or 4 but overall, I could probably buy more rods, reels and equipment with the money ya'll have saved me.

There's a few posters in here that I'd give my left nutt just to hand you a wrench, get you coffee, run your arrands, anything just to watch you at work on these motors and drives.

Sad thing is, some of the best of you live where it's cold and that is not I. So, if you ever relocate down here and open up shop and need some free labor for a few months or years, look me up.

It'd be the last time you'd have to climb out of the boat just to get a wrench. I'd have them ready on a golden platter waiting for you to pick the one you need.

Just my pennies of thanks..............

I agree with "shelikesit"
I've been working at a boat shop for about 3 months now, and have learned far far more from this forum than I have at work. You guys are the greatest resource known to man. Keep it up and Thanks Again!

iboats may be slow, but it's still the best boating board on the net.

Absolutely the best.

For those of you experiencing speed problems, when the new version came on, it took over 10 minutes to load the pages and many times got timed out. Yes, was deprived of this board for close to a year.

I am using an ADSL connection with the modem connected to a wireless router. Finally turned off the router internal firewall and things came back to normal, especially my daily fix of iboats.

To all the chaps that make this site, a huge THANKS!

Qystan
