Can anyone id year and tell me where I can get parts for model# 225-3606 serial# 588436 sea bee, I have johnson and evinrudes, Im trying something different this time thanks Brian

Thanks so much any idea where I can get parts I was told it runs and pumps water, but I know better can I cross refernce any of the old sears or elgin motor parts sorry for bad spelling

Gale was a division on OMC. You have heard of the other OMC motors, Johnson and Evinrude. However, except for the magneto and recoil starter, there is not too much the same. Still, you may find some parts at a J/E dealer...if you go in armed with the part number. The water pump impeller, properly called a "rotor" is available from Brian Wilcox at pfs-ware.com/impellers.htm

The rotor must be snug on the eccentric and just touching one side of the housing and a space between the rotor and housing on the other side, and just deep enough to fill the housing. The space moves as the rotor wobbles when rotating. Grease leaking out of the gearcase will cause the rotor to swell up and then it won't work.

Thanks for the info, I have all winter to mess with it but have to get my wood burner up and going in my garage first , looks from the pic that the pump is a easy replace, I was told that the motor runs and pumps water, like to use on 12 ft john boat with no room, like the idea with the gas tank on motor have a good one

A new grease seal won't help the leakage into the pump. I have a cure, but can't tell it here. Send me a PM if interested.
