Last weekend I got caught in some rough water and the alarm would beep briefly when the boat hit a wave. The engine didn't cut out and I was wearing the lanyard. Everything ran perfect but the alarm would beep. Any ideas?

Could be your depth alarm with the sudden changes in depth if you have one . Just a thought

Sounds like a lose connection.

Re: 3L alarm in rough water

I was thinking about the loose connection issue and I did have a problem early in the day where a connection popped off the ignition switch but it didn't appear to be loose when I was getting the alarm.

I guess as long as it's not telling me that something is wrong with the drive system, I can take some time to look for it.

Thanks.

Check you gear lube bottle. If it is real low and gets sloshed it may set alarm off.

Could be low water pressure at the sensor do to airing out the boat/drive in the rough stuff, And some engines have a over speed horn too. what engine set up do you have?
