I bought a 2006 Q4sf with the 4.3 liter last year. The guy I bought it from said it was the 220 hp model and didnt think much of it. It is not the MPI model and just has the carb so I am thinking I just have the 190hp.

Can someone let me know how to check for sure and what is the difference between the 190 and 220?

Thanks

From what I understand there isn't really a huge difference. The carbed model is 190hp and the mpi is the 220hp version. From what I found other than a 30hp difference, there isn't really any difference in speed or fuel usage. I have the Q5i with the 190hp and I haven't had any lack of power issues.

I agree, the 2006 Q4 carb version is rated at 190hp, the MPI is the 220 version.

I had my Q7 to an indicated 58 mph with my 4.3 MPI 220 hp motor. The one thing I really wanted was to not have to worry about high altitude tuning when we take our boat to the Sierras. With an injected motor it should automatically compensate.
