Ok, to all of you have responded. L.T. It is the front of the engine, i took the small weigthed pulley as a fly wheel. I will take it in and have a cert. dealer look at it. And as for the stop leak. Oh good i get to go back to wally world and return something. I rarely ever shop there but if i do go in, its kinda like going to a free circus. woohoo. Thanks to all who have helped and i wish i could have givin better info on the leak, but it is really hard to tell which and where the seal is that it is coming from. Thanks again.

Although it might not be relevant, I had a similar type of issue on my old 3.0L. The water pump had gone bad, allowing water to drip out of the weep hole onto the timing chain cover (actually gears on 3.0). This eventually rusted away the timing chain cover and would leak out almost 1/2 quart oil after a couple hours of running. Couldn't see the leak with the belts and pulleys in the way either.

I think he's referring to the harmonic balancer as a fly wheel.

Sounds to me like a front main seal leak too... which should have nothing at all to do with the plugs popping, and may well be a warranty issue.

It could either be a main seal or it could be the pan gasket right at the botom of the timing cover. Although the way you describe it (drips when at operating temp) would point more to the seal. Either way, your warranty should cover it and 1) you don't have to sue anybody and 2) you got a bow shot on proper winterizing. It's all good...

Thanks again everybody, well cept for the guy who said i was on crack. Any way, im hooking it up and taking it down to a dealer before my warranty expires in 3 days. Then its getting sold at a deal and im going to find something with a honda outboard that i can park in the living room for the winter. It will be a good conversation piece. I might decorate it and call it a christmas tree. Haha

you probably have a leaking timing cover seal or the crank seal on in the timing cover......
and here you go screaming blah blah lawsuit.......
and then you go looking for some justification for such a blah blah lawsuit..... and you come up with the drain plug crap.

Yes my friend..... you are definitely on crack.
And I hope your not in my area... because you are somone that I wouldn't want as a customer.

Sell it, then go to wally world and buy a paddle boat. Something that you can work on yourself. Some of us that don't live in the city only have wallyworld, so I guess I'm one of the clowns you're making fun of at the circus. But who's laughing now? WOOHOO!

I just had the same problem with my 5.0L mercruiser. Wrong manual given to me at purchase. I drained engine as per the manual. Engine cracked. Mercruiser says they are not responsible. I am going to hire a lawyer. Were you able to resolve your issue? There are lots of other boaters with this problem. Help!
