4.3 col replacement?

What would one of yall experts would recomend on a replacement,factory recomended or a higher volt like a 40,000 v.?
This is a new rebuild,had trouble with the firing and came out to be a bad coil.My brother that rebuilt the eng. said he would put a higher voltage coil becuse of the 262 cam.But he is also a high proformance mechanic ,so that being said just curious on other thought's.

Ops sorry, its a 1995-96 4.3 vortex stock /262 cam added/ truck motor rebuild.

The stock coils on those engines were rated at 40.000 volts anyway.

The coil peak voltage rating it not what is fired. The voltage required to fire a correctly gapped spark plug in the right fuel/air environment under normal (about 8.5:1) compression is only around 2000 to 4000 volts, at idle even less. If unusual conditions occur, that's when the extra voltage capability is used.

So, to answer your question, unless the engine is an extreme racing engine, just use a standard coil.... It'll likely never even see a requirement to provide its maximum rated voltage.
