New member here, but old guy to boats.
This was a barn find, got it running 2 years ago, last season, ran great, been out 6 times this year, now having belt and cooling issue.
Thank you to any and all who reply.
98 Rinker Captiva192, 4.3, have owned this boat for a couple years, last time out it spit the belt off
Tensioner was a little loose, water pump had some play, replaced both.
Tried every routing combo I could see possable on the belt, I have a crank pully, water pump, tensioner, Ps , and Alt, not sure if the routing is right?
Fired it up, got up to 160 ish, but only one exhaust manifold is getting hot, not sur if thermostat is opening, plan on replacing it, as this boat sat unused for 5 or 6 years b4 I rescued it, my question is, if the belt is routed wrong, would the WP not push water like it should? or am I missing something else? Did have the manifold of last year, but it has ran flawless for 6-8 trips out for several hours at a time since any othe work was done.
Also does anyone have a good # for a belt? The original was undamaged when it spit it off, so, that's what I'm running at the moment.

Thank you to everyone,

Regardless of engine, impeller is always the first suspect. (And second, and third)

If the belt is jumping the possibilities are a bent or loose pulley, bad harmonic balancer or a bad tensioner or even a bent bracket.

If you are sitting on a trailer, the highest manifold is the hottest

Also, if you haven't replaced the impeller, do so

If you find pieces missing, find them
