2008 4.3 EFI MERCRUISER I/O

My fist merc. Not my first time winterizing an I/O
Has single point drain but I keep reading that this drain wasn’t intended to be all that’s needed for winterization. I can find no other drain points. Can anyone suggest what else is needed to insure complete block and manifold drainage.

there are 5 places to drain the block/motor/manifolds.

the two on the block (one on each side)
the two on the exhaust manifold (one on each side)
the intake manifold thermostat cross-over

then there is the cool fuel module, the raw water line to the PS cooler and the big hose.

you will most likely find that the single point drain is plugged up.

Thanks for the info Scott. My shop manual does show these block and manifold drains. Can you possibly direct me to any schematics / pics that show them? Feels like I’m fishing in the dark trying to find them. By the way, the single point outflow was very strong, didn’t look blocked and the water was clear

On the Vortec V6 there is a drain plug in the front of the intake manifold.
