Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a lower shift cable kit for a 1989 mercruiser?
I've looked all over the internet and every time I think I find the right kit such as the one here http://www.iboats.com/Boat-Motor-Parts/dm/*******.528995906--current_category.--keywords.lower%20shift%20cable%20kit--search_in_category.f--searched.1--**********.115084994--submit.Search--submit.x.0--submit.y.0--view_id.268604 I'm not sure if I actually have the right part.
I also tried to search for the serial number on my unit, however the serial stamp that I found on the back side of the unit was pretty much worn away - it's either "0CCC48689" or 0CCC43689", but I'm not even sure about the "CCC" to be honest - its really hard to read. I also downloaded the pdf file that helps you identify the model mercruiser, however without being able to read the serial, I think I'm out of luck.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!
