Hi all I need some help on this my. I have a 2000 regal with a 4.3L GL(Carb) and the warning alarm under the engine went off. What does this alarm do?? Is it oil pressure or Heat??. I did relpace my rubber Water pump in the leg of the Volvo penta as it was shot. I took the Thermostat housing off and fished out the pieces of rubber in the Thermostat housing. I also replaced the thermostat itself. I am getting great water flow and the heads are cooling off just fine .

Any ideas could really use some help on this

Don't know what you replaced, because Volvo doesn't put the raw water pump in the "Leg", it's engine mounted.

First thing you need to do is find out which one is causing the alarm. Remove the wire off the temp alarm switch and see if the alarm goes off. If not, pull the one off the oil pressure switch and see if the alarm stops.

Hi Don Thanks for the repy I should have said Impeller pump. The pump that pumps the water up to the Water pump on the engine. My dealer said this should be replaced every year??

When you say temperature sensor I am gathering the only one is attatched to the thermostat housing??

Thanks

Shaun
