Ok. I have a 93 rinker with a 4.3 lx mercruiser model number 0d864806. I drug the bottom and seen mud come up and within a few minutes the speed ometer quit working and 30 minutes later the prop stopped spinning and left us with just a motor that would rev up. Got it home and put muffs on it and it won’t take water or go into gear and spin the prop. I checked the impeller and it looked new.(only owned boat for 2 months) I put the lower end of the motor in the shop to have the odometer sensor cleaned and refurbish the prop. Well while waiting on them to do that I took the top of the outdrive off and the gears are shredded. A shop told me it would be 1500 minimum to have it completely rebuilt. I seen online I can order the whole thing for about that new! My question is I can’t find that exact motor anymore. I found a se 116 1.47 that says it replaces mercruiser alpha gen 2 drive. It’s from nu wave. Will that work and if so will everything match up and what else will i need that’s not included. If that won’t work where can I order my new outdrive or is the shop a better option? Thanks.
