Re: 4.3 merc replaced

Impeller kit 47-43026K06 is Mercury/MerCruiser replacement kit. It includes the gaskets, impeller, steel plate, steel impeller key, orings etc. When you have the lower unit off, change the oring just too the starboard(right side) of the water pump housing. It is for the gear lube oil galley. Also, after draining the gear lube, replace the orings around the drain screw, and the vent screw. All three of those orings are included with the impeller kit. Also, make sure you replace the face seal on the top of the impeller housing. It is also included in the kit. There are also two large orings, which go in the water tube coupler which goes on top of the impeller housing, and to the copper tube that goes to the upper portion of the drive(also included in the kit) When you have the gaskets, housing removed, look down and make sure there is no junk down in the area below, which leads to your water intake.

not knowing the history of your drive - it needs a complete service
water pump, bellows, gimbal bearing, etc.....

and don't forget to have it properly aligned or you could be adding a coupler to the tab...

all the bellows look to be in good shape. I've inspected the gimbal bearing and it feels very smooth and the in no sign of water ever being there.
All the bellows look to be in good shape. I'm going to do the impeller just because its already off.

I alinged the motor Sunday...it was my first time doing the alignment...but seems to be spot on.
