Hello Everyone new member here, We just bought my second boat from my brother inlaw, a very neglacted 1992 Bayliner 2050. It has a MCM 4.3 Mercruiser Alpha One in it (serial number 0D818065). After getting this boat home and attempting to start the engine I found that all of the gas in the tank was actually water. After draininng the tank using the 4.3's electric fuel pump and putting some fresh gas in I was able to get it running unitl we took it to the lake and backed down the boat ramp which pushed all the water to the end with the pickup tube. After removing fill hose and jacking boat up and removing remaining water from tank, went for another lake run. This boat will while in nutrual will rev awesome, boat once you get going under a load stalls out bring back to nutrual and most of the time stay running if not will start back up first try. Took back home removed carb cleaned out water in the carb and installed new carb kit. Yes this next time to the lake will be great, NOT. Still does the same thing. Also replaced fuel filter and andded another inline fileter a clear one to check for trash, looks clean. I am thinking fuel pump, but have been told most likely not, the pump would either work or not work. I am also waiting for my fuel water seperator kit to show up and install it. So what do you guys think could it be the fuel pump or is there something I am missing.
