4.3 OMC 1988 - Impeller Changes

Boat running hot. Changed thermostat and flushed water cooling system. Wanted to check water impeller and replace. What all needs to be removed to get at water impeller?

I just bought a boat with a 1987 OMC 4.3, so let me tell you what I've done to deal with questions like impellers.<br /><br />Went to my nearest boat store ad bought a Clymer OMC Cobra Sterndrive Repair Manual for $28. Has all the instructions for changing impellers, etc.<br /><br />Also, went on eBay and found a 1988 OMC 4.3 Parts Catalog for $10. Now I know where the parts fit, what they are called, and their OMC part numbers.<br /><br />While the good folks on this board can solve individual questions, I would recommend you pick up these basic reference materials.
