Re: 4.3 rebuild ?'s

One last question, I was reading in another post about putting vortec heads on, I have a line on a set out of a 1995 blazer for $50, my question is for the time being will the current 2brl intake manifold bolt up to the vortec heads because the motor the heads are on doesn't have a carb manifold

Ayuh,... Unless the 2bbl. manifold is Also a Vortec manifold, No...

The manifold to heads interface is Very Different...

STOP!

The "vortec" heads were not intro duced until '96, so they were not on a '95 blazer.

However, GM has been using the TERM vortec since '87 when the TBI heads came out. That '95 blazer will have the same heads I am currently running with 6 intake manifold bolts per side and composite valve covers that SAY vortec, but they are not the vortec heads that people actually want. The heads you want will only have 4 IM bolts per side.

Re: 4.3 rebuild ?'s

I found a set of vortec heads complete w/ pushrods and lifters 3000miles on them edelbrock 600cfm 4barrel and edelbrock intake for 300-350...is that a fair price?

Maybe????

Are we sure about the heads being true vortecs?
What is the PN on the manifold? 2111 you don't want any part of this deal, 2114 = vortec.
Assuming that 4bbl is an automotive carb, you CAN'T use it. Is seller willing to break up the set?

Re: 4.3 rebuild ?'s

LSA is too close.

I'd keep the blazer cam that's already installed.
