4.3 timing tab

I just purchased a 4.3 short block 96-98 #14099090 it came with a 6 bolt plastic timing cover my old engine is a 1995 4.3 My question is where do I install my timing tab? I want to use most of my 1995 parts if that's possible

Nowhere... Have a read of this -> http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=373060 and then send the engine back!

Go over to the s-10 forums and post...Your issue...There is a block code on the casting and they will be able to help you...Marine....truck ...car its all the same

from what I have found an advanced timing light will work....
