I've got a 2013 4.3 TKS that bogs around 3600 rpm. It will run fine at that throttle but I can't coax the last 700 or so revs our of her. 300 hr svc was done and carb rebuilt, issue persists. I didn't chase the jets with a wire while rebuilding rather relied on the ultrasonic cleaner to do it's job. I did remove the carb after rebuild and install the 2nd manifold gasket that was with the kit so now there are two gaskets under the base. I'm thinking I need to pull the carb and make sure the ports are clear. Prior to a second rebuild kit purchase I wanted to ask if there were any other thoughts on what may be the issue....or am I onto a second rebuild?

Don't feel too bad, carb re-rebuilds are pretty common.

Use a HIGH quality rebuild kit - avoid Sierra and other chinesium kits. Run all the passageways. Remove the jets, check balls and venturi and clean all of the now available passageways. Double and triple check float height.

Absolutely many a time had to re rebuild my carbs.

agree completely on high quality kits and care on float adjustments

mikes carb parts is a great place for quality carb kits and support

only other thoughts are is igntion system in good order , advancing properly , hull clean and not water logged, and is tach accurate, is fuel pressure ok at wot

Well I just ordered a TKS rebuild kit from Mikes along with a new brass float. If the re-rebuild doesn't cure it I'll check fuel pressure on the new fuel pump, it's a Sierra branded pump so..........

Thanks for the reassuring words. I was getting a bit irritated with the whole darn thing.

Check your compression as well, and make sure you're not dropping a cylinder. A 4.3 can run pretty smooth on 5 cylinders
