Start at number 1 turn engine by hand watch until valve closes turn a little more now on base circle loosen nut while gently lifting up on rocker at valve tip end once you have a gap sloowly tighten nut till you just touch valve again stop do all the same then turn 1 half turn to set 20 thou lifter preload your done

If you are adjusting valves with eng running get a piece of cardboard, cut a strip bout 7in by what distance needed to stick in the head by the bottom valve cover rail and bend around the curve in both ends of the head bou 2in. I usually use the cardboard piece that valve cover gaskets come in, only have the valve cover off the side I'm adjusting, not very messy at all.

NO need at all to adjust hydraulic with engine running, IF you follow the factory procedure.

I don't have a manual still waiting for my friend to buy one.If someone has the manual could copy and post it.Or tell my what the manual says. its a 1986 v6 175 hp thanks

adjusted the valves now, I know it has to do with the idle mixture screw.how do i set it.
