I have a thunderbolt iv ignition with a 4.3 v6.The motor starts fine idles fine. But when I rev the motor, the timing advances but sometimes the timing drops way low past 8 degrees and ides real low.I have verified this with a timing light.I have been trying to fix this for 2 weeks.Would the idles mixture screw create this problem. Or maybe a vacuum leak.Any help would be appreciated.

How low is "idles real low"? Have you set the idle screw on the throttle arm on the port side? Of course the timing is going to advance when you rev the motor. That's normal.

it will idle fine, then i give it gas and back to neutral it starts to idle low like it wants to die.like i said with the liming lite it will advance with throttle but in neutral the timing drops way low past 8 degrees thats the problem.
