I hate to have two boats to deal with at once but since my cabin will be out for a while I brought my dads boat back from storage to use this weekend. Started it up and the carb needed cleaned.... done but I found one of the exhaust manifolds gets really how when running with the muff and the other stays nice and cool. I pulled the thermo housing and put a new thermostat in and cleaned it and it still doing the same thing... ideas???

Howdy,

One of your manifolds, riser, or the coolant supply hose to the manifold is clogged or restricted.

You need to determine where the restriction is and fix it because eventually it will cause an overheat in the rubber parts of the exhaust system.

Guess I'll pull the manifold that is getting hot tommorow since that one has to be restricted. The hoses are new so that isn't the issue and the thermo housing is clean and plently of water is getting to the hoses so it must be the manifold. Unlike my other boat this one has a one peice manifold/riser not two pieces.
