4.3GLPBYC High RPM @ Idle and WOT

Took my boat out again today and noticed the RPM were running high after the first run. Seemed fine on first run today. Idle was about 700 RPM and WOT was at about 4500 RPM. We stopped and anchored after running about 20 minutes. The remainder of the day, the Idle was about 900 RPM and WOT hit 5400 - 5600 RPM before I noticed and backed it down. Tried WOT a couple times and it kept revving that high. I shut it down several times and idle and WOT remained at these higher number. It does not seem to diseal however. Could the Tach be off? Air Leak? Timing?

Sure it could be the tach, did the engine sound like it was idling faster? WOT rpm is not going to raise 1000 rpm without something sounding odd.

It really didn't. How should I troubleshoot the tach? Get a new one and try that?
