I want to put in a marine dipstick on my motor. Is this possible to do on a standard 4.3L that was converted to a marine motor. (this is how i bought the boat, this is not by choice)

I don't know, it has a standard oil dipstick like a vehicle, that's how the boat was when I got it.

Re: 4.3L gm motor

Sorry for all the questions, but is it fairly simple to change this out? Can i do this with the motor on the boat, or does it need to be pulled? Also, the throttle body assembly(what i call it) is on the side of the motor instead of on the top. Is there a way to change the location? If not, where is the shift interrupter located on the throttle body assembly?

PS
I am very new to all of this and I am trying to save some costs and do it myself. I have a good amount of vehicle knowledge, not very much of boating knowledge, but i am learning rather quickly!

thanks in advance

Ayuh,.... If you can get all of the old dipstick out, ya oughta be able to install the new 1,...
Donno how easy it is to get to yer motor...

Donno what yer talkin' about with the "throttle body assembly", as that would be an Efi replacement for a Carb....

The interrupt switch is on the cable shift plate, where the forward cable, 'n lower shift cables come together...

Who's engine was this? Marine Power? Crusader? Yamaha? Is it EFI or carbed. Who makes the outdrive, or is it a straight inboard.
Pictures would help.

As far as dipsticks and tubes, they are matched sets for a particutlar engine, you can't just grab any ole dipstick and stick it in the tube and expect it to be even close to accurate.
