Re: 4.3L LX Choke Problem

I too have cold starting problems with my 1994 4.3 LX.
When cold with my flame arrester removed, I note that when I set the choke(give it throttle) the choke is open about 1/4 inch. It should be hard closed. The only thing that affects this is the choke(bi-metal spring in a choke stove on the intake manifold). If I manually close the choke plate, the unit starts very quickly. I've ordered a new bi-metal choke mechanism(spring like thing). If this fixes the hard starting, I'll post the Part# of the choke thingy.

UPDATE: I bought the choke thermostat part #66205 and haven't installed it yet as I can't see how it would work based on the setup/adjustment procedure in the service manual. If the choke spring (which is spot welded on the mounting bracket) was mounted(welded) about 180 degrees clockwise rotation from its current position, then I can see how that would work.
The part (66205) is the item from the on-line parts catalogue and of interest, the picture in the parts catalogue(poor resolution) shows it as I think it should be.
Am I nuts or do others share my dilema?
