Could anyone direct me to step by steps for bleeding the power steering. I got my steering cable replaced, but had to remove the entire "unit" from the aft of the motor and beat out the ram piece to the cable. In doing so, I removed the lines and bled every ounce of power steering fluid from it. Where do I begin??

Well, ususlly using heat on the aluminum tube allows removal of the cable. Beating usually kills the cylinder. IF it survived, fill the reservoir, turn the wheel lock to lock 5 or 6 times WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING.
Making sure the level looks ok. Then start the engine (water on muffs of course) and complete the process.
Check fluid level next couple of days.

Thanks Don. I just wanted to keep the post up to date in case of further onlookers. The heat didn't work at all. The thing seemed welded in. Once out, I cleaned with a soft bristle cyclindrical brush and lubed. Everything works great. I have to say though everything warned of damage, but I don't see what damage could be caused. The cylinder it was in isn't sealed so it functions merely as a channel for the piston to travel in. The cable being secured at one end with the nut and at the other end provides the force to steer. What could possibly happen by scarring the insides?

I must also take the time to voice my pissed-offedness at how ignorant of an idea it is to assemble this unit without the lube fitting. This will surely become an issue again in another two or three years. Was SeaRay saving the nickel or what?
