4.3l OMC Power Steering Cooler location

I was able to feel around and find the four main petcock valves on the block and manifold (I got water out of all but one- is that normal?)

I am not sure where the power steering oil cooler is located. Is it in the back- like the way back? Will I have to remove the interior engine compartment walls on my Candia 180 to reach it?

Stick a wire in the hole bent on the end and maybe you will pull out rust and junk.

Post a picture of the motor please about the cooler.

Nope,.... No water is a Bad sign,... Poke something in there to dislodge the Crap blocking the drain....

Ayuh,.. Quite Possibly.....

It's mounted in the water line that comes from the outdrive, to the T-Stat Housing....
Follow that waterline,+ you'll find it....

The power steering cooler should be on the starboard side all the way in the rear and down a little, maybe a hair below the intake manifold.

From standing in the boat looking at the engine follow one of the coolant hoses around the left side of the engine.It goes into the PS cooler under the side of the engine below the exhaust manifold.
Most of the drain plugs on those end up rounding off when you try to get it off.
Instead of draining mine i would just hold the hose up high and pour antifreeze in it until it runs out of the outdrive.

The P/S cooler is around the rear left side of the engine as you face it, if you disconnect the raw water intake hose at the thermo housing and point it down in the bilge, usually it drains the cooler depending on the angle of the boat, I always take the drain out (7/16ths bolt) anyway. Then I fill this line with -100 Af and that will push any remaining water out. I also fill the block and heads and manifolds the same way after draining. These coolers can be pretty expensive so do make sure it's drained.
