I have a 1980's Mercury 4.5 HP outboard - I replaced the impeller - she pumps water for about a miniute then only steam. The pump housing and all looked good. I see water bubbling around the water pump area when she is running in the barrel. It will no pump at high or low RPM's - I blew air through all openings an all seems clear. Any ideas - is there a themostat ???
