Hello All

Can Anyone tell Me the difference between a 4 Blade & 3 Blade Prop?

The Boat is a 1988 Bayliner Capri 19' with a 1988 Force 125hp (that I'm very happy with) (surprise surprise).

I don't pull a Tube or Skier I just cruise around and sight see. Hole shot is nice but I'd rather have top end.

Right now I have a 13 1/2 x 19 & getting My 13 1/2 x 17 fixed both are 3 Blade. I hit 35 mph (GPS) with the 13 1/2 x 19p.

Thanks in Advance
( I'm still a  )

Yeah- the difference is one blade!

I am surprised.

Then stick with your 3 blades.

What are you trying to change? More top speed? Not sure it's gonna happen.

Out of curiousity, what is the max HP rating for this boat? Seems that 125 HP is a bit on the light side, but Bayliner did that a lot back then, to allow them to advertise a relatively low price.

Your solution to wanting more speed may require a larger motor vs changing the prop.

Thanks in Advance

Acouple posts below this one, theres the exact same combo.
We have no idea what your rpms are(kinda important when finding the right prop) but the 19P(3 blade) seems to work for other people.
As far as yor question...a 4 blade normally gets you on plane quicker and allows you to stay on plane at lower rpms. From what I've read you will normally go down a pitch and loose some top end.

A 19 seems like a lot of prop for a 19 footer with a 125 And a 1.73 ratio. Calculator from the speed end indicates "ABOUT"
3800 rpm at 35 mph.Do you have a tach?
