I have a 4 hp Johnson model #J4BRHCTA, serial#F5729007. I would like to know what year this and what it may be worth. Thanks in advance.

That's a 1983.

Being 25 years old condition is everything. It might be worth $25 and it might be worth $300.

I just yesterday sold a ~1980 Evinrude 4 which was running but in need of a tune up for $175 on Craigslist. I had it listed at $250. Mine was pretty beat and had some extremities broken off. It was also the bare-bones model that didn't have reverse. I paid $400 for a mint condition 1990 Evinrude 4HP Deluxe 2 years ago. Hope that helps.
