4 stroke carb.

On a 2003, 25 HP 4 stroke, there is a electronic sensor or switch mounted on the top of the carb body. What is this componet? What does it do?

That would be the enricher for the automatic choke or "Prime Start" as Yamaha calls it.

Thank's for the help. This engine belongs to a friend, and I have no service literature on the Yamaha engine's.
