Noticed the other 50 hp problems with the efi, but i have the carbed version.
I have had to have the carbs cleaned every year to have any shot at it running decent. I have added fuel preservitives to the fuel and still have had problems every year, is this common with these motors.

At 75.00 per carb it is getting expensive to fix and wonder if it has ever been correctly fixed, by now I'm sure I could have just baught 4 new carbs should have i?:mad:

If a cleaning each year is curing the problem, then it's a problem with your fuel, not the carbs.
Dirt or water in your fuel and then allowed to set in the carb over the winter will sure cause problems.
Do you have a water seperating fuel filter installed?

Thanks for your reply Don.

Couple things, I have got in the habit or removing the fuel line from the motor and running the gas out of the carbs each time I use the boat. This is a tip a mechanic suggested.

Next, I use fuel treatments and still have problems.

I know I have a in line fuel filter but not sure if it is water seperating??

I am ready to sell this thing but it would be cheaper if I could get it running, I love the boat and better yet own it but it is very frustrating.. Is it possible to empty the main fuel tank and clean them out, start their??

Stop draining the carbs and you will probably see your problems go away also.
