Two days to remove all the plugs and screws from the deck.. next strip the hardware and then hopefully the deck will come off easy..

You may want to remove portions of the decking and replace it piecemeal so you have some solid footing to work from.

Well here we are planked deck is now removed... any ideas how to get this blue membrane off? or is it going to be easier just to remove all of the plywood and start fresh? the rot seems to be only into the plywood and not the structure..

Is that ice shield/water shield that you'd apply to a roof?? Certainly appears to have some sort of thickness to it since it took on the grain from the boards above it.

Nice project by the way!

Maybe a heat gun may let you peel it back but looks like it's pretty tied in to the wood grain.

I think I would agree with the others, probably some heat and muscle (heat gun and scraper).

Wow! I'm really liking this boat. For some reason it reminds me of Captain Haddock's ship in the old Tintin comics from when I grew up. She's going to be a pearl when you're done. I love the interior as well with all that wood. I'll be tagging along and can't wait to see your progress.

I'd love some more pictures when you get the chance. What does the engine room look like? :)

sorry for taking so long to bring a progress report on "Gavia". unfortunately the internet service at the marina is almost non-existent. I have been working hard to bring her back. I had the whole hull glass blasted to reveal and bad spots.
