I Own A 1997 40 Force Outboard.. I Get A Miss In Engine.. We Checked Ree,replaced Fule Lines,,put New Diaphrams In Fuel Pump.. Checked Compression.. Seems Like The Top Cylinder Is Firing More Than The Bottom One... We Checked The Stator,, Replaced The Trigger,, Put Several New Ngk Plugs In It.. We Looked Under Flywheel.. And There A Couple Of Hairline Cracks In The Magnets.. Almost Look Like They We Manufactor Defects.. I Seen How The Magnets Brake, And Crack.. These Are Very Hairline.... Could This Be The Problem With The Top Cylinder Firin More Than The Bottom ? Andy More Suggestions On What Else To Check???we Cleaned The Carb To....and Checked The 2 Electronic Boxes On The Back Sorry I Forget What They Are Called.. Please Help!!!!!!!!!

Re: 40 Force

not the magnets.
most likely the coil - will start to fail when it gets heated up, then will eventually stop working all together.
