40 Johnson problems II

Posted sunday and the feedback was great. Original post about back fire and missing....now...stills starts ok, but dies out if I play with the choke I can keep it running...theres new gas and oil..cleaned carbs.. cleaned gas filter..BUT I noticed excess oil in prop and plugs fouled...Have oil injection...seems there is too much oil..when it runs smokes like hell, not normally like that. The oil bulb was loaded with oil...afraid to disconnect and run without oil to see if the oil injection system is bad (located under dash 3' from engine) oh yeah new plugs today and the same situation. I hope this is not a fatal problem...new fuel pump too last summer...thanks...FT NJ

when you post always tell use what motor. not going back to research it.

Johnson 40 hp 2 cyclinder....oil coming out of prop and the new plugs getting wet...oil injection system below dash..new oil and gas...carbs cleaned...is it possible the oil injection system is faulty? Runs sickly..have to choke to keep running...new fuel pump last season ran good 6 trips-(7th trip died in the water) ---after carb clean runs very bad and won't idle without shutting down...some backfiring and missing (not as much now with new plugs) this is one great site and I can't believe all the info being passed around...
