i checked the mech advance weights and springs... and they were rusted not much spring at all. the rotor moved but would not spring back... i i cleaned all of the components up and lubed them the rotor seems to be moving ALOT better now springs and weights seem to b e working efficently also we will see what happens this weekend .... and no i did not check the compression yet.. and the distributor is not new only the cap rotor condensor and points are new.....thank you

ok so i took the boat for a ride today seems a bit better i got almost 4300 rpms out of it and picked up about 6 miles an hour im around 32mph now WOT.... a little better than 27... im guessing that sabout all im gonna get out of the boat. seems to get up plane alot better now also... do u think if i take the dol-fins off i would gain any top end??? i woudl also like to thank all that helped me

my humble opinion is the its not the timing. 6 btdc if fine. the only thing you have changed it the prop right ?

i did change the prop amongst other things.....
