Looking for alittle help with wiring on a 1985 40etlk . Got the outboard with battery /starter cables removed and un marked . I have manual on cd but the pictures are hard to see . Iam looking to find out what the light blue ? wire is for in the picture . And also how/where the correct routing of the battery cables are . Sorry the picture are not great best i can do with camera i have .
1) The top stud on starter ( ground ) is this ran directly to battery ?
2) I got the cable on the bottom of the starter going to a solenoid , and found a loose stud on the other side of solenoid that had 2 smaller wires on it , on this stud ( circled in green ) does this go out to the battery ?
3) The light blue wire in question i was told by the owner he "thought" it went to the choke . Where does it go ?
4) What gauge /length /terminal type were the battery cables originally ? i have 4 gauge wire but it seems to thick to sit in the piece at front of motor .
